Fergie narrowly avoided a fashion disaster live on British TV. The singer was getting ready to perform on The X Factor with the Black Eyed Peas when she realized she had no shoes to match flesh colored, diamanté studded gown. What’s a girl to do? Call in a favor from a friend, of course. British pop singer and fashionista Cheryl Cole is one of the judges on The X Factor and she swooped in—literally minutes before the Peas were set to take the stage—with the perfect pair of pumps.
“This happens a lot of the time with shows; my shoes did not match the dress,” Fergie told the audience as she thanked Cole for her last-minute save. “She’s a size smaller than I am so I had to stretch into them, so thank you so much for that! That’s showbiz. That happens sometimes.”
