Power couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony want to bring the film industry to Puerto Rico. The Back-Up Plan actress and her husband —both of whom are of Puerto Rican descent—submitted a proposal to Fajardo Mayor Anibal Melendez to build a state-of-the-art soundstage in Fajardo that would would attract more A-list movies and TV shows to the island. Melendez says the proposal is still in the early stages, but he told the Associated Press that Lopez and Anthony expressed “a lot of enthusiasm for the project” at a recent meeting in Miami. At least for now, the couple’s publicist is not commenting.

Skipping out on a 2008 New Year’s Eve concert is turning out to be a costly mistake for “Closer” singer Ne-Yo. The R&B hitmaker and his promoter Mike Esterman have been ordered to pay over $156,000 in damages to Kenyohn Clark, the promoter behind the Washington-based show Ne-Yo decided to skip. The case went to court in July and the judge just released his decision. No surprise, the court sided with Clark, who claimed Ne-Yo’s promoter not only misled him but also failed to return a $95,000 deposit. Bad form! When Ne-Yo took the stand, he said he knew in his “heart of hearts” that the deposit should have been returned. Next time, listen to your “heart of hearts,” Ne-Yo.  If you don’t start doing the right thing, you’ll get a reputation and promoters will be “so sick” of you!

She was supposed to be in rehab for three months, but troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan was released from her inpatient rehab program after only 23 days. That has some close to the actress worried that this stint in rehab will be just as ineffective as the last ones. “Lindsay says she’s determined to stay sober and focus on work,” a source told People magazine. “[But] it’s too soon to tell what will happen. We’ve seen these moments of ‘purity’ before, but as soon as she gets a taste of the nightlife and the drama, she usually falls back into old habits fast.” She was already spotted this week driving around L.A. armed with energy drinks and an entourage, so she’s not off to a great start. The new judge on the case is trying hard to keep her on the wagon by enforcing a strict regimen of random drug testing, psychotherapy and addiction counseling between now and November 1, when she goes back to court. Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, insists his client is serious about getting sober and that the experience marks “a new beginning for Lindsay Lohan.” Now that’s something we’d all like to see!

She already had 10 plastic surgeries in one day, but Heidi Montag isn’t finished going under the knife. The 23-year-old star of MTV’s The Hills wants to reverse one of the procedures, bringing her shockingly-large G size breast implants down to a D or a double D. “I’m desperate to go back to normal,” Montag told Life & Style. “I’m obsessed with fitness but it’s impossible to work out with these boobs. It’s heartbreaking. I can’t live an everyday life.” Montag’s faced plenty of consequences since getting the work done. She said she can’t hug her dogs, has to buy specialty clothing, still has pain in her body, almost died from too much Demerol and lost her husband Spencer Pratt, who “begged her not to do it in the first place.” Wow. She’s certainly lost a lot in the quest to be beautiful. “I don’t have anything back home: no family, no friends,” said Montag, who wants to go away and live a simple life in Costa Rica. “’I just really want to get out of Hollywood.” Sounds like she’s ready to run for The Hills.

It’s the question on everybody’s lips these days: is Mariah Carey finally pregnant with her first child? She’s been getting progressively, shall we say, curvier. And she recently dropped out of her next movie for “medical reasons.” So is Mimi expecting a little lamb of her own? The singer and her husband, Nick Cannon, are remaining tight-lipped about all the rumors. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again,” Cannon said on his radio show, “when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her.” A source told Radar Online that that’s not exactly what the couple’s been saying in private company. “Nick has been telling friends how excited he is to be a dad,” said the source. “Mariah has tried so hard to get pregnant. She’s very excited. She wants to wait as close to full term as possible before going public with the news to her fans.” In the meantime, the rumored mommy-to-be is letting her clothes do the talking for her. The brown spaghetti-strap halter dress she was seen wearing in Brazil last week turns out to be part of the Pea In The Pod maternity line. Seriously, Mimi? The jig is up. Just come clean. You know we’ll all be really happy for you!
