Nicole Richie confirmed, during the taping of the CBS Late Show with David Letterman, that she is engaged the long time boyfriend Joel Madden! The 28-year-old star was asked by Letterman; You’re not married yet, is that correct?” Richie replied, “We’re not married.” Letterman then went on to ask if she and Madden planned to get married. Richie said, “We actually recently are engaged, yes.” We then saw a tweet for Joel on his twitter page saying, “Yep. I’m engaged, very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while.” Good for them! The couple already has two children, 2-year-old daughter, Harlow Winter Kate, and 5-month-old son, Sparrow Midnight, who her new clothing line, Winter Kate, and accessories line, House of Harlow are actually named after. We wish the newly engaged couple success!

Could one of the Yankees’ most eligible bachelors be off the market? Rumors are swirling that Derek Jeter plans to tie the knot with his girlfriend, actress Minka Kelly, before the end of the year. A New York Post reporter went undercover at Oheka Castle in Huntington, N.Y.—the same place where Kevin Jonas and his bride recently exchanged vows—and noticed an entry on the calendar for a “Jeter wedding” on November 5. Although the two were rumored to have gotten engaged this past August, something Jeter denied on David Letterman’s show after the Yanks clinched the World Series, that’s hardly solid proof of the couple’s impending nuptials. When the reporter pointed it out, Oheka Castle sales manager Rick Bellando insisted that a celebrity wouldn’t be listed under his real name. And, as the Huffington Post pointed out, the timing is pretty odd since November 5 is just one day after the last possible 2010 World Series game.  Looks like we’re going to have to take these wedding rumors with a grain of salt. Or should that be rice?

Looks like David Letterman isn’t the only high-profile victim of an extortion plot. Two people are under arrest for trying to blackmail actor John Stamos. The ER star met Allison Coss during a 2004 vacation in Florida. The two attended a party on that trip and Stamos even kept in touch with the 23 year old afterwards. But last month, he started receiving threats demanding $680,000 or photos taken at that party would be released. Luckily he doesn’t have to worry anymore. An undercover FBI agent  pretended to be Stamos’ rep and arrested Coss, along with Scott Sippola, when they tried to collect their money.

We at V2 can’t help but wonder what’s in the photos. Details haven’t been released but according to Us Weekly, Stamos was told they would “cause harm” to his reputation if they came out. Stamos’ real rep said they’re just pics of him with fans and Us Weekly reports the photos may be released just to prove it. We can’t wait for the truth to come out.

Britney Spears Photographs

Britney Spears made a surprise visit to the David Letterman on Tuesday; this was Britney’s first appearance on a show for the past three years. She sent a text saying: “I’m in town, and I’m just such a huge fan”; David replied by saying thank you to Britney, and she replies back “uh, no, I wasn’t talking about you. I was talking about Will Ferrell.”  As we know Britney has always had a sense of humor, although she would have to as she continuously makes a fool of her self.

She went on the show sporting a black bikini with a flower in her ear, as she sat on a desk. Britney was on the show to present the show’s top ten list; her theme of the show was “Top Ten Ways The Country Would Be Different If Britney Was President.”

As we know Britney has been the laughing stock for quite some time now, and especially when she says thing as “I want to be a President”, and “Three Words; Vice President Diddy.” Britney needs to avoid being on shows wearing little clothing saying she wants to be President, and that “she would be the first President to wear eye shadow since Nixon.” The media is giving Britney Spears attention again, but her media stories seem to revolve mockery.

Since her last TV appearance in November of 2006, not much has changed; Britney Spears continues to embarrass herself although we here at V2 will note that she is looking better than past few years.
