When it came to quitting his drug habit, Eminem got help from an unlikely source: Sir Elton John. “[Elton] had a substance-abuse problem in the past. So when I first wanted to get sober, I called him, because he’s somebody in the business who can relate to the lifestyle and how hectic things can be,” explained Eminem, whose dependence on prescription drugs landed him in rehab in 2005. “He understands the pressure and any other reasons that you want to come up with for doing drugs.” John first came to know Eminem when the two performed a duet at the 2001 Grammy Awards and, 18 months ago, decided to make him the latest in a string of friends he’s helped through addiction. “I’m there if people want help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising if they don’t want it,” John told the BBC, adding that Eminem is “doing brilliantly.”

DJ Tedsmooth is going to be seeing green soon

DJ Tedsmooth is going to be seeing green soon. The DJ known as the Remix King is working on a mixtape with DJ Green Lantern. Born James D’Agostino, Green Lantern is a host on Sirius Satellite Radio and is known for mixtapes such as the Invasion! series, the first set of officially sponsored mixtapes from Eminem’s Shady Records and, most recently, DJ Green Lantern, Russell Simmons & Barack Obama: Yes We Can (The Mixtape). Details are still scarce but we can reveal that the collaboration between Green Lantern and Tedsmooth, the latest member of FunkMaster Flex’s Pitbull DJs, will be called Don’t Try This at Home. It sounds like a great match and we can’t wait to hear it.

Is DJ Camilo hip hop’s best DJ?

Is DJ Camilo hip hop’s best DJ? VH1 certainly thinks he has a shot at the title. The International Club King and Hot 97 DJ is one of 7 DJs you can vote for in this year’s VH1 Hip Hop Honors. He’s already earned respect as the first and only mixshow DJ to have three different shows on one station and winning VH1 viewers’ vote would be icing on the cake. We at V2 are casting our vote. Eminem vs. Nick Cannon over Mariah Carey

V2 sources tell us Nick Cannon has a new music track to diss Eminem. Looks like he is serious about picking a battle against one of the most ferocious lyrical dissers in the Hip Hop Nation! Heres the true scoop: Nick Cannon’s song about Eminem has been floating over the internet and Eminem seems to be ignoring it…

Nick Cannon’s music is so “yesterday” that we question the song’s flow or artistic style…Most of the buzz has nothing to do with Nick still having a musical ability. Its is actually related to the many replies from reader’s saying something like “Nick! Don’t do it!”, “Dude! Dont go there with Eminem, you’ll get slaughtered”. Clearly the public is worried about how Eminem will reshape Cannon’s image through serious verbal lashings.

In the end, the general public speaks about the Cannon vs. Eminem battle, as if it were a boxing fight commericial announcement- and as some of the crowd cheers on the fight, well all know who will reign supreme. The only question is will the Champion respond to he battle invite or simply let Cannon’s song speak for itself.
