With hits like “Single Ladies” and “Independent Women” under her belt, it’s no stretch to think of Beyonce as a feminist. At least a little bit of one. “It’s not something I consciously decided I was going to be,” the singer told You magazine. Having recently collaborated with other empowered artists Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga, Not to Mention Destiny’s Child, she’s been surrounded by strong women her whole career. “I love being a woman,” she continued, “and I love being a friend to other woman.” The “Crazy in Love” star also loves the idea of being a mom one day, with husband Jay-Z by her side. “My ambition is to continue to learn about the world and to eventually have a family,” Beyonce continued, before making sure no gossips’ tongues would be wagging. “It will happen when I’m ready.”

Rapper Beanie Sigel is not happy about the relationship between Drake and Beanie’s former mentor, Jay-Z. The ex-Roc-A-Fella rapper released a video where he threatened to smack the Thank Me Later hitmaker. He’s probably pretty steamed about the verse Jay-Z laid down in the song “Light Up,” where he makes reference to silly rap feuds and the fact that he is on top along with Drake. Not only that, but Hova’s new protégé is a quadruple threat—actor, singer, rapper and writer—who is so popular that his recent free concert in New York City was canceled due to the massive crowds. And Beanie Sigel…when’s the last time anyone heard anything about Beanie Sigel? Beanie needs to focus on his career and stop making idle threats just to get some media attention.

Roc Nation’s newest artist J. Cole wowed club-goers & industry professionals alike at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club. Cole performed a secret, 6-song show Wednesday night, mostly focusing on material from his last mixtape, The Warm Up. Since few knew his songs, the crowd was kind of dead when he took the stage but yoyu could feel the love from the floor growing with each track. We were in the audience and can definitely say he’s an artist to look out for. He’s got great stage presence and delivery, and his short set certainly packed a punch. The wall-to-wall crowd hung out after the show and legendary DJ Ted Smooth rocked the turntables. We feel bad for all the fans stuck outside online all night. They definitely missed out!

Jay Z says, “Uh uh, there aint no body fresher, im in Maison, uh, Martin Margiela”.  Although it would be pretty odd to wear a bunch of Margiela in 80 degree weather, Miami will now have the option. This shop will carry menswear, women’s wear, accessories, shoes and eye wear, which all will be displayed in fixtures from Margiela’s interior collection.  The shop will be MMM’s 3rd in the US, 19th in all. If you are in the MIA make sure you go and visit!

Jay-Z’s Unofficial Hype Man!

Posted by admin On March - 5 - 2010

jay_350It seems as though everyone has caught the Lil Mama bug. Currently on his Blueprint 3 tour, rapper Jay-Z had a little surprise during his concert in DC when an overly excited fan joined him on stage. We bet Jigga Man was just as confused as the audience when a short, stubby guy jumped on stage and stood behind Jay-Z for a few seconds during his performance with Memphis Bleek. The escapade didn’t last long. Before the stage crasher knew it, a burly bouncer pounced on him and threw his tail off stage, with no effort! That dude definitely left with more cuts and bruises than he bargained for.
